Microchips, Hard Drives, and a Great Breakfast

Hey, Everyone!

This is my 130th personal Blog entry!  Whew!!

By this time next week, if all goes well, I'll be announcing my new project (the one I alluded to in my last entry).  Exciting!

Robert got microchipped last week!  FixNation was kind enough to take him in (they no longer have microchip clinics and they currently only microchip tame cats who are also in for a spay/neuter; but they made an exception for us because we're awesome).  So now Robert's a cyborg:
Drawing Ramiro did on our whiteboard in honor of the occasion.

It was a pretty hectic day.  We got up at around 6:00am that morning and loaded Robert in his carrier.  Which he was really great about!...until Ramiro turned on the car.  Robert then pooped himself BIG TIME!  And with his long hair, you can imagine what a mess THAT was.  Yuck!!

As soon as we got him back home, I had to bathe him.  I have some new scars now...  He always puts up SUCH a fuss!!  But as soon as he's out of the water, he LOVES being clean!  He becomes more affectionate that ever and really struts his stuff.  Sigh.  Oh, that Robert.

Robert airing out his underside after his bath.

I'm sorry for yet another late entry.  As you might have guessed, I've been incredibly busy lately!  In fact, I finally had to get myself an external hard drive today to save all the writing I've been doing.  Flash drives just weren't cutting it anymore!  I now have 500GB of space to back up my files...  I have a feeling I'm going to fill it up in no time.

Last, for those of you who haven't already seen it (Mom & Amy, I'm talking to you!), here's the awesome breakfast Ramiro made for me this morning to cure my "I can't believe it's Monday again already!!" blues:
He's the best.  <3

Be sure to tune in next Monday!!

Back in Black

Hey, Everyone!

Sorry my entry is so late today!  I just got home... from renewing my Black Belt!  :D

In my martial arts system, once you're a black belt, you need to renew your black belt every few years.  You know.  You go into the dojo, make sure all your stuff's up to snuff...  Anyway, despite my being 20lbs heavier than I should be right now, I still performed very well.  It was great to be back!

I hate to do this to you guys yet again, but, once again, I have a few things in the works...that I can't talk about yet.  Hopefully you'll be content in knowing that possibly good things are on the horizon.

In the meantime, check out this thing Ramiro did:

Wasn't that neat?  You can get a better look at it by clicking this link: http://ebe-1.deviantart.com/art/TENEBRARUM-258697344

Thanks for stopping by!

Mortal Kombat Kitty

Hey, Everyone!

I spent the majority of the week writing for clients (I even acquired a couple new ones!).  Then, on the weekend I:

Played Pokemon Black (Tepig was my starter!) while Ray and Ramiro played Mortal Kombat 9.  I turned Ray into a Mii on my 3DS:

Ray had to open his eyes super wide before the Mii Maker even realized he had eyes. The boys joked that my 3DS is "racist" toward Asians.

Pretty much, if I see you in person, you're going to get turned into a Mii.

Saturday morning and afternoon was filled with thunderstorms.  Robert was chill, but Ringo hid under the bed.  I went skating at the Moonlight Rollerway on Saturday night.  It was very crowded, but there was still enough room to move around.

Then, yesterday, Ramiro and I watched the first Mortal Kombat movie.  Or, as I like to call it, "the good one."

Robert was extremely interested in the movie.  He likes TV in general, but he usually loses interest and goes back to playing with his toys (or sleeping) after a few minutes.  Not this time!  He made it to about the one hour mark before he finally looked away and took a nap.

Robert wants some of Kano's chicken...

Even while he was sleeping, Robert was making grunting noises and throwing little kitty punches. :3  And he woke up again for the ending.

It's almost 5:00pm and the mail still isn't here.  Figures it'd be late on pay day.  One of those unwritten rules of life, am I right?

By the way, be sure to tune into my Professional Blog this Wednesday (9/14) if you're a fan of 1940's noir! ;)

Labor Day

Hey, Everyone!

It's Labor Day... and I have to work.  But, by gum, I'm going to start at 9:30am instead of 9:00am!  Woo!

This is how I was woken up most days last week:

Robert was very full of beans last week.  He's usually a pretty rambunctious cat as it is (more puppy than cat, I tell ya!), but last week he was especially wily.  You see that huge tennis ball in the background?  That's a dog toy.  We finally gave up on getting Robert cat toys and just started buying him things more suited to his demeanor. Puppy cat!

Here's what my Friday afternoon looked like (cat pics, ahoy!):

He used to be able to play with Ziggy on days like that and blow off some of his steam, but, as loyal readers know, she's gone now.  And normally Ramiro is around to help play with him and wear him out, but Ramiro was at Ray's that day.  It was all up to me.  And by the time I was done with my "regular" job and done writing for my side clients, he was pretty wound up...

I tried playing with his dangle mouse (it's a mouse toy on the end of a semi-elastic string), but he grabbed onto it super-duper tight...and then he let go...and it went flying up over my head.  Now, I'm 5'3" tall.  You probably wouldn't expect Robert to try to jump after a toy that was flying over my head.  But you'd be wrong!  And, the funny thing is, he almost made it.

Almost.

He ended up slamming his whole 9 pounds worth of cat straight into my jaw:
Still though.  It was a very impressive jump!  My jaw is still bruised and bit painful, but the swelling has gone down now.  And I did eventually wear out Robert and he fell asleep.

On Saturday, I got my hair cut.

Here's what I looked like before:
And here's what I looked like after:
That's my friend Jaz at Vous Hair.  If you like how my hair came out and you're in her area, you should go get a haircut from her!

That's about it.  Actually, there was more, but I have to work now.  Later!

Oh, and be sure to tune-in Wednesday to my "pro" Blog (on my official website) for my interview with Paul Grimshaw!
